WALNUTSTUDIOLO BICYCLE CAN CAGE

I found this shop accessories for bicycles and fell in love. Here I can find everything I need for my bike: frame handles, bottle belts, grips, U lock holster, seat bags...and more! All in genuine leather! Amazing!!!!

                                                                http://www.etsy.com/shop/WalnutStudiolo

Light and rigid can cage for your bicycle, made out of leather, with a snug fit.

Bring a can of soda (or beer, or juice) along for the ride. A flat can of Coke has been called the racing cyclist's "secret weapon" - the quick jolt of sugar and caffeine is perfect to get you up the last few hills.

Rigid leather is hand-stitched together to be structurally sound. Cans stay snug in the can cage even after a rugged off road tour.

Designed to fit a standard can size, also fits tallboys.

Comes ready to install with three clamps to connect the cage to the bicycle: two on the handlebar and one around the stem spacers.

Love this style!

Made with inserts of geometric lace, this shirt is precise in its dreaminess. The long tunic fit is easy to wear, and is meant to be loosely fitted and incredibly comfortable. The southwestern and bohemian influences are subtle enough to match just about anything that you can throw at it but are present enough to keep things interesting.

Faux leather leggings - metallic black spandex, street style fashion

Awesome paneled leggings made with a metallic spandex on the outside of the legs, and cotton on the inside. The metallic spandex has a shiny wet look that gives the impression of leather, but it actually comprised of hundreds of tiny holographic dots. Looks perfect with heels, sneakers, and baggy shirts.

JAPANESE STREET FASHION

Japanese street fashion is a fashion genre that encompasses several subcultures of alternative fashion. It usually involves taking an ordinary piece of clothing, such as a shirt, and altering it by adding personalized components, such as metal studs or fur trim. Often, these fashions are also heavily deconstructed, sometimes by ripping or shredding. Japanese street fashion leans toward fashions that are of the gothic and steam punk genres, and is primarily embraced by teens. It began as a fashion subculture in the late 1990s, and by 2008, Japanese street fashion had impacted the worldwide fashion scene.

One of the earliest and most common types of Japanese street fashion is called “Gothic Lolita,” or “Gothic Lolly.” It is believed to be influenced by anime characters such as Sailor Moon, and typically consists of dresses that emulate the frilly short frocks worn by little girls during the 1950s. The dresses often include dark touches of gothic, such as dark fabrics and white lace trimmings. The dresses are often worn with ripped stockings, pinafore aprons, and full tulle crinolines or petticoats. Gothic Lolita later evolved into full gathered skirts with crinolines, which are commonly worn with striped tops and stockings.

WHAT IS STREET FASHION?

Street Fashion is an expression used to describe Fashion that is considered to have emerged not from studios, but from the grassroots. Street Fashion is generally associated with youth culture, and is most often seen in major urban centres. Japanese street Fashion sustains multiple simultaneous highly diverse Fashion movements at any given time.

Why not be great?

The thing is, we still live in a world that's filled with opportunity. In fact, we have more than an opportunity -- we have an obligation. An obligation to spend our time doing great things. To find ideas that matter and to share them. To push ourselves and the people around us to demonstrate gratitude, insight, and inspiration. To take risks and to make the world better by being amazing.

Are these crazy times? You bet they are. But so were the days when we were doing duck-and-cover air-raid drills in school, or going through the scares of Three Mile Island and Love Canal. There will always be crazy times.

So stop thinking about how crazy the times are, and start thinking about what the crazy times demand. There has never been a worse time for business as usual. Business as usual is sure to fail, sure to disappoint, sure to numb our dreams. That's why there has never been a better time for the new. Your competitors are too afraid to spend money on new productivity tools. Your bankers have no idea where they can safely invest. Your potential employees are desperately looking for something exciting, something they feel passionate about, something they can genuinely engage in and engage with.

You get to make a choice. You can remake that choice every day, in fact. It's never too late to choose optimism, to choose action, to choose excellence. The best thing is that it only takes a moment -- just one second -- to decide.

Before you finish this paragraph, you have the power to change everything that's to come. And you can do that by asking yourself (and your colleagues) the one question that every organization and every individual needs to ask today: Why not be great?

Old... is new again

We love order and minimalism in buildings. New, freshly planned, pristine and perfect are great attributes for new structures , yet we also find ourselves drawn to things that aren’t so flawless. Recycled, repurposed, previously loved, salvaged. Buildings that have a previous life carry a character that brand-new ones just cannot master.

Marketing:101 way to destroy your tribe part 1

photo from the blog of Tim Ferriss
Today i've found this great marketing post written from Ed Welch:

For too long, I have watched organizations destroy their tribe while naively
wasting money to replace them.
If any of the items on this list ring true – you’re probably destroying your own
tribe – one customer at a time.

1. When you have a great product that’s selling well - look for ways
to make it cheaper – your customers won’t be able to tell the
difference.
2. Never honor a warranty if it’s expired – even if it’s only been
   expired by one day.
3. Don’t ask for feedback from your customers.  Make them take
surveys but never engage them in a conversation with you.
4. Don’t worry about what one customer might tell another – after
all, you have millions of them, right?
5. Do everything you can to keep your customers from creating a
community – you don’t want them talking to each other.

6. Make your customers wait every chance you get.  They’re not
busy like you and it helps them meditate.
7. Always work toward increasing your company’s earnings per
share – it’s all that really matters.
8. Make big decisions first – then wait and see how they will impact
   your customers.
9. Always make sure your employees are underpaid and frowning
   – customers will feel sorry for them and buy more products.
10. Don’t waste money having a real person answear  the phone - use the voice menu

What is upcycling?

Upcycling is a process in which disposable or discarded items are repurposed to make them valuable, useful, or simply aesthetically pleasing. Upcycling is designed to work in opposition to consumer culture, encouraging people to think of new and innovative ways to use things, instead of simply buying new consumer goods. It also benefits the environment, by promoting reuse over discarding whenever possible.
As most poor people are aware, upcycling has been practiced for centuries, and factories have long used innovative upcycling techniques to ensure that nothing they handle goes to waste. For example, grain processors often burn waste materials like husks and stems to power their plants, thereby eliminating waste and making their operations more efficient. The concept of upcycling for the average consumer was popularized in a 2002 book, Cradle to Cradle, which was designed to get people to rethink the way they use and relate to things.
There are all sorts of examples of upcycling, ranging from building houses out of entirely discarded materials to turning plastic bags into yarn for knitting. Everyone can upcycle, which is part of the appeal, and people can participate at whatever level they feel comfortable with, from delving through dumpsters to salvage useful things to re-using containers rather than tossing them or throwing them out.
This is an important upcyclers blog where we are members.

is it easy to sell on internet?

Is it easy to sell on internet?
Good question... not easy to answear!
In these years on Etsy i have understand that the item you sell are important, it's important the quality of the material you use but most of all it's important to build a story around you and your work that meet a tribe,a small community 'that is reflected in you and your outlook on life.
The essence is This: CONNECT
connect people that have the same way of life

Why Upcycle?

Jumper Cushion
Argyle Cushion Project on http://bugsandfishes.blogspot.com
Upcycling is becoming increasingly popular among groups and individuals concerned about climate change.  Recycling is great but it requires energy and resources to collect, sort and process unwanted items and waste.
Upcycling is an even greener way of recycling – you find a new purpose for your unwanted items before you chuck them away.  It’s all about taking disposable things and creating something useful  from them.  Usually the only energy being used is your own and it can save you money too.
For example, you might use an old woolly jumper to make a cushion cover or stuff all your plastic bags into a giant sock to create a draught excluder.  Instead of buying expensive arts & crafts sets for your kids, keep hold of old egg cartons, cardboard boxes and other containers – you’ll be surprised how long some unwanted cardboard and a set of paints can keep children amused.
The need to find alternative ways to deal with our waste has never been greater – across Britain we throw a staggering amount of stuff into landfill. Even if you look just at clothing and textiles…. we throw 1.8 million tonnes away every year.

Making your cut-off jeans is an easy first upcycling project

Instead of paying extra for eco-friendly fabrics such as organic cotton or bamboo silk, try transforming an old item of clothing into something new, for example cutting old faded jeans into vintage style shorts for the summer.

Upcycling helps the environment in several ways;

  • Your old items aren’t going to landfill sites, where a gas called methane is released, which contributes to climate change.
  • There’s no need to recycle them in the traditional sense, which requires energy and resources.
  • If you can make use of old items, it might save you buying new things – thus, reducing the need for more goods to be manufactured.

  • So, before you start filling your recycling bags, have a think about other uses for your unwanted bits and pieces and you’ll not only help the environment, but should also save yourself some money too.

Remake Next Vintage Castello di Belgioioso

In these times when the responsible consumption involves all aspects of our daily life, clothing is becoming more of a symbolic value, becomes the means for a message about our values, our identity, our way of life. The "critical fashion" is made up of independent productions that aim to assess and recognize the limits reached by the fashion system and seek to overcome them proposing alternative routes, be they economic, productive and social relations. "Consume critical fashion" means to pay attention not only to the style and trends, but also to the characteristics of ethical leaders who are wearing. Respect for the environment and workers, the development of manual skills, creativity and self-production, the rediscovery of traditional processing methods, human relations that can develop between those who produce and those who wear it, are the essential values of a new and different point of view on fashion, away from any part of the big names and the mass production and consumerism. All this to show that "fashion is another possible" in a fashion that does not come from above or from a distance, a fashion sensitive to the environment, it can regain the ability to invent and create. The fashion remake offers trendy clothes and refined, reinterpreting fashion with style and elegance. Authentic vintage clothing, and left in the original leaders revisited in a fusion of styles, combining fabrics and colors to create unique pieces. In this way it gives new life to a piece of clothing "retro" that reinterpret making current and trendy, also at tailoring it follows the creation of a chief by his idea, model, cutting, construction and finally to vendita.Remake and recycled ... Fashion in the name of sustainability and ecology. A means to communicate the possibility of a different way of dealing with the "fashion". picture from The sartorialist
