glaciermilk The Up-Cycled Fashion Revolution

I love this designer of Montreal, I find her creations really amazing, rich in retro details  but very modern.
She explains her style and philosophy in this way:

The ONE-OF-A-KIND, outrageously kooky spirit of "Glaciermilk" makes entering the world of Janice Louise Miller a bit like dropping down a psychedelic rabbit hole. If the Mad Hatter invited Marie Antoinette for tea on the eve of 2012, what ever would she wear? Recession! What recession? The world is about to end and the cake never tasted better! Janice dreamed up a whimsical fashion collection that is entirely made from RECYCLED ECO RECLAIMED REBORN UP-CYCLED ETHICAL GREEN VINTAGE & FACTORY END MATERIALS.

Janice says:

I had 3 dreams when it came to choosing my career in life. The first was animal rights law, the second; marine biology or lastly, becoming an extreme animal rights activist, super ninja traveling the world breaking open the cages of lab and zoo animals...But none of these options would allow me to work from home.... I had decided to become a fashion designer specializing in up-cycled designs.

LEGGINGS

After DuPont created the earliest form of lycra in 1959, leggings became available to wear as trousers similar to the popular Capri pants favored by Mary Tyler Moore and Audrey Hepburn, but much, much tighter. But it was not until the fitness and aerobics craze in the very early 1980s that leggings made their way from the gyms and dance studios to the streets. The popularity of Cindy Lauper, Madonna and the movie Flashdancewith teens brought them into the mainstream. Worn with skirts and mini dresses, under long shirts with slouchy socks and biker boots thru the early 90s, it’s no accident their current popularity coincides with the recent grunge revival.

True to their origins of keep fit, leggings are the ultimate pull-on-and-go garments. They can be tossed in the washing machine and dryer, they don’t need to be folded, let alone ironed – they are just so easy. What it boils down to is comfort. The fact is, no matter how much we love fashion, when it comes to our day-to-day clothing, most of us are wearing layers and leggings.these

Below are the latest leggings, I find them very original. wear leggings like these makes you unique. they are super!!

Love this style!

Made with inserts of geometric lace, this shirt is precise in its dreaminess. The long tunic fit is easy to wear, and is meant to be loosely fitted and incredibly comfortable. The southwestern and bohemian influences are subtle enough to match just about anything that you can throw at it but are present enough to keep things interesting.
